Founded by Nicole Aman out of a dedication to restore quality childcare in Coralville, First Steps has become everything a parent could ask for. Our kids and staff know each other and build a loving, supportive atmosphere full of light and life.
From tummy time for our tiniest learners to field trips for our school-agers, every moment nurtures growth, curiosity, and confidence.
Age-appropriate classrooms where curiosity leads the way
Newborn – 10 moWe follow your baby's own schedule for eating and napping. Plenty of tummy time, reading, and sensory play to nurture early development.
10 – 22 monthsTwo rooms split by age. Structured routines, basic sign language, hands-on activities, and toys that build vocabulary and motor skills.
2 yearsWeekly lesson plans hit all five development areas. Dramatic play and sign language expand their world every day.
3 – 5 yearsPocket Full of Preschool curriculum drives school readiness. Learning centers, group time, and creative projects.
K – 5th GradeCare on no-school days, breaks, and holidays. BASP with transportation to Wickham, Van Allen, and Central.
